Best HDTV Deal of the Month

OK, so I've been looking for a good TV deal, and finally I have found it. First the link, then the explanation:

Samsung LN46A550 46-inch 1080p LCD HDTV

This Samsung 46 inch 1080p LCD HDTV gets very high marks from Amazon's users, and it's on sale -- one of those sale prices they can't show you, so they say, unless you click on a link to put it into your shopping cart.

Well, I will tell you the actual price: is is one dollar less than $1600. See, even I can't tell you the price directly. Hope you're good at math!

Some positive notes:
- 5 ms response time, which is great for sports or gaming
- 30,000:1 contrast ratio, meaning black is black
- tons of other stuff, you should click on the link to check it out

This price is only a little more than the Sharp Aquos LC42D64U 42-inch 1080p LCD HDTV are now, which makes for good comparison shopping. Again, check out the comments from visitors at Amazon to help make up your mind.

On the Samsung, you currently save $400.

HDTV: Best Time to Buy?

When is the best time to buy your HDTV upgrade? Are any stores running Super Bowl Specials?

Consumer Reports says there are some good deals out now:
While price cuts have certainly been made, some dealers — and manufacturers — are instead serving up bundle deals that offer savings for multiple purchases. For example, Toshiba has a $200 instant Super Bowl rebate for those buying a Toshiba HDTV 40 inches and larger along with one of its HD DVD high-def DVD players. This week, Best Buy is offering a $300 instant savings for those purchasing any HDTV 37 inches and above, and who sign-up for or upgrade DirecTV service.
I'll be checking up on these and more and offering some options this week.
